in the lower 48 states. It’s an outdoorsman’s paradise!
Driving through the valley enjoying the countryside is one of my favorite things to do, and now as a Realtor I do it for a living.
When not showing properties, I am hiking through the woods with my wife and dog.

The Bitterroot Valley is located in the southwest corner of the State of Montana. It is credited with bordering the Largest Wilderness area in the lower 48 states. It is also located in the Banana Belt of Montana, known for having more moderate temperatures than other parts of the state.
Wildlife is abundant here; Pine Forests and meadows flourish. Numerous Mountain Streams flow from the high peaks, creating lush irrigated fields and pastures. The remaining water feeds into The Bitterroot River which flows through the center of the valley. This is country for those who love the outdoors! Hunting, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, biking, skiing, snowmobiling or just sitting on the porch taking in the views!
There are 3 ski areas from one end of the valley to the other, so no matter where you live, one is close by. Missoula is nearby, located at the North end of the valley, for those needing a cup of Starbucks Coffee, a shopping spree or a gourmet restaurant. Missoula also offers an International Airport and is about a 35 minute drive from the center of the valley. The Missoula Metropolitan Area has a population of 95,802 making it the second-largest city in Montana. Missoula is the home of the University of Montana and has all the restaurants and amenities you would expect of an upscale college town, so relocating to the Bitterroot Valley means that you are not leaving civilization entirely behind.
